C. Matthew Manikas, Hammond Van Ochre
I was told, by way of fictional character, to never write one’s own biography. Perhaps it is due to the unglimmering facets of ego, or perhaps some archaic literary law. In any event, I am largely uninterested in the common practices. And besides, I am very worried about looking cool. I was not born in a small log cabin, nor beneath a moon fiery red. I was born in south-east Detroit to a family of four boys. An Irish twin to my older brother, I eventually followed his legacy to Kendall College, and studied in his field, hoping but not expecting to fill his monumental shoes. I am a quiet man, creative and dedicated. I care greatly for animals. I am myself a writer and artist. I very much enjoyed my time shooting the Hammond Van Ochre story.
